Configurator
Configurator is a user-friendly software designed to facilitate artists in the creation of show-based OCIO (OpenColorIO) configuration files. With its intuitive interface, artists can seamlessly incorporate look transforms and view transforms into their existing configurations. The software offers the flexibility of utilizing built-in templates or customizing them to suit specific project requirements.
How it works

Configurator simplifies the creation of looks in OCIO config by utilizing a LUT provided by the user. If no LUT is provided, it automatically applies the Camera Rec709 color space. For example, if the camera's color space is Slog, it will use Sony's Rec709 LUT.

By default, a Blank LMT is applied unless a specific LMT is specified by the user.

At the moment, CDL is not supported, but it is planned for inclusion in future updates. If CDL support is crucial for your pipeline, you can modify the supplied OCIO template to incorporate the CDL environment variable, or you can get in touch for further discussion.
If Configurator detects a config file present in the folder, the "Add new look" option and OCIOcheck are enabled. Add new look allows you to add a new look to the existing file, and the previous file is copied to a history folder with a timestamp, providing a fallback option if needed. This is ideal for adding alternate looks, or shot specific look. The OCIO check feature helps identify any errors in the OCIO configuration and highlights them for easy resolution. You can utilize the OCIO check feature on configurations not generated by Configurator as well.

Configurator comes with pre-loaded OCIO templates (versions 1 and 2.1), based on original OCIO configurations, with some added tags that are used by Configurator. These tags include NOTES, WORKING_COLORSPACE, CAMERA_COLORSPACE, SHOW_LUT, SHOW_LMT, and LOOK_NAME. While the default configuration should suffice for most ideal VFX workflows, it is essential to use Configurator templates as your starting point if you intend to make alterations.
